This picture was taken at the ABA Northcentral Gold Cup at the Richfield, MN BMX track. (I had the privilege of teaching a clinic there in 1992, but had no idea the track dated back to the roots of early BMX).
Dave Christensen is no doubt the fastest, most famous of all the former Factory riders for Tahoe. The coverage for the race appeared in the September ’82 issue of “Bicycles and Dirt”.

Hey, thanks for creating this blog site! Sweet stuff.
I’d forgotten some of the great names associated with Tahoe, but I will never forget the explosive style of Dave Christensen.
Nor will I forget the rank stank that wafted from his Tahoe gear bag. Dave was lightning fast, but once in a while he’d race without laying on a couple extra swipes of Brut deodorant, and his gear suffered from it. Or something like that.
BTW, Dave, myself and other Minnesota BMXers got to hang out with Jack Doherty this past summer, when Jack came to Minny for a trip with his stepson, Brad Hallin. Great to see him, he’s still an amazing promoter. I forgot to ask him if he has a stash of NOS original Tahoe frames, forks, clothing and such. Probably does. Hmm….
Wow the John Sandberg?! For sure one of the biggest names ever out of Minnesota. Thanks for visiting the site and taking the time to post something. Yeah Jack, he had like 10,000 ABA tracks in Minnesota BITD. I never met him, but remember his name in the directory a gazillion times.
